Privacy policy

This page explains what personal data emod collects through this website, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to meet the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP) and the GDPR.

Who is responsible

emod is responsible for the personal data collected through this site. You can reach us about anything on this page at contact@emod.ch.

What we collect, and why

If you use the contact form, we collect the name, company, email address and message you enter, plus the page you sent it from. We use this to reply to you and to follow up about a possible engagement. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries. We do not use it for anything else and we do not sell it.

We measure basic, anonymous website traffic with Umami, an analytics tool we host ourselves. It uses no cookies and does not store your IP address or any information that could identify you. Because of this, the site does not need a cookie banner and we cannot identify you from it.

Where your data is kept

Contact messages are stored on our website, hosted by Infomaniak in Switzerland, and in our CRM (Baserow), hosted on a server in the European Union. Email is sent through Infomaniak, a Swiss provider. Website statistics stay on our own analytics server. Your data does not leave Switzerland or the EU.

How long we keep it

We keep contact enquiries for up to 12 months if they do not lead to work together, then delete them. If we start working together, we keep what we need for the engagement and our legal obligations.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it. Write to contact@emod.ch and we will handle it. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) at edoeb.admin.ch.
